A talk with Arletta

There is a knock on the door. John is stood with his back to it.

John: Come in.

A slim brunette enters the room. John turns to face her.

Arletta: Thank you for agreeing to see me.

John sits down and indicates a chair across the desk. Arletta takes a seat.

John: Why are you here, Arletta?

Arletta frowns as she looks around the office, her brown hair flowing loosely around her shoulders.

Arletta: In your office? Well, I was hoping for a rematch with Fists of Wind. I hat….

John slams his fist down on the desk, making Arletta jump and stop talking. Her eyes are wide as she stares at John

John: No. Why are you here in FFI? What do you want to get out of it?

Arletta: Well, I’m fed up of drifting around. I want to have a stable place in a fed. That’s all I’m looking for, at least right now. I would say I’d like a title but I’m not that big headed. I need to earn a title.

John looks at Arletta steadily, never saying a word. Arletta blushes under his gaze, staring down at her hands, and falling silent. Her brown hair falls around her face. Arletta looks up again suddenly, straightening her shoulders.

Arletta: Now about that rematch…

John continues to look at Arletta, still saying nothing.

Arletta: What do you want me to say?

John: I want something other than babble, Arletta. I don’t like babble.

Arletta: I’ve said all I can say. I want to wrestle. That’s all I’m here for.

John: Ah some truth, finally.

Arletta: And I want to wrestle well.

John: Thank you for dropping by. I’ll consider that rematch.

Arletta gets up and leaves, closing the door quietly behind her.
